Clint Kolz was raised in Colorado on a large cattle ranch. He grew up riding and showing cutting and reining horses.
Clint demonstrated early on that he was a talented rider. From 10 to 14 years of age, he won multiple championships each year. After high school, he spent time in Arizona with legendary horseman Mike Kevil and another great reining horse trainer Ben Balow.
While he attended college at Texas A&M, Clint put himself through school starting young horses. He started horses for many well known trainers such as Barbara Schulte, Blue Lavendar, Robert Rust, Sam Wilson, Mark Mills, Randy Cherry, Corky Sokol, Richard Simms and Roy Carter.
During his junior year at Texas A & M, he took a great job managing a 300-acre ranch and still rode horses for the public. He boarded and trained 90 head fulltime until 2001 when Clint bought his own place. During that time he worked with another great legend in the cutting world, Gerald Alexander, who is still thought to be the best 2-year horseman in the business.
Clint started showing again almost 2 years ago and immediately earned some AQHA reining wins. In 2005, he placed 3rd and 5th at the American Cutting Horse Association World Championship Finals in the 3-year old Open Division. He was also 2nd in the Crawfish Classic in West Monroe Louisiana in the 3-year old Open Division.
Clint made the finals at the American Cutting Horse Association World Finals this year in the 3000 Novice Horse Division.
Clint Kolz currently has some great prospects coming up through the ranks that are top-notch show horses. These prospects are also for sale.
